How to get your dream blonde shade by booking a toner
Ice, Honey, Carmel, Ash,…the list goes on and on! There is not one hair shade for all. Your colourist will help you find the right shade depending on the effect you are after.
So what is a hair toner and what does it actually do?
Hair toner is a form of semi-permanent colour which corrects or personalises your colour. A toner is applied once your permanent colour has been rinsed off to help create a bespoke shade.
A hair toner is frequently used on light blonde hair but can also be used on brunettes and redheads to help remove any brassy tones. Remember this isn’t your natural hair colour, so if you have naturally dark hair a toner can still be used if you are colouring your hair lighter. The toner itself only affects the hair that has been dyed and does not affect your natural colour.
How long does the application take?
The application is fast and simple and is usually applied after all the permanent colour has been rinsed off. It’s massaged into your hair from the roots to the ends, as it adds shine (even to your natural hair). After 10-20 minutes (depending on the chosen shade) it is rinsed off before your hair is shampooed and conditioned.
How long does it last?
A toner lasts around 4-5 weeks, it will slowly fade at which point you can book another toner appointment to freshen the colour. We recommend you use a colour-friendly shampoo or a toner shampoo to keep the tone fresher for longer. Remember using a strong detox shampoo can sometimes strip colour so be careful which shampoo you choose to use.
